The Philips Norelco Shaver 2100 is a shaver that promises a very close shave even in the areas of your face that might be difficult to reach normally. It does this through the usual rotary shaver design that is already perfect for getting into the grooves of your face and by using the ‘Flex and Float System’ also seen in some other Philips Norelco models.
The idea of this Flex and Float System is that the individual circles will easily move and change position in order to compensate for the bone structure of your face. This means it will become smaller in places when necessary and larger in other places, which in turn is very helpful when you need to reach those stubborn neck hairs or when you’d otherwise be going over the same patch of cheek over and over again.
Other features of the product are a rounded design that glides effortlessly across the skin and proves no irritation. The heads meanwhile have been precision engineered in order to offer a cut that’s 25% closer than other types of razor.
Extra Features for Philips Norelco 6948XL/41 Shaver 2100:
The Shaver 2100 also has a great design that’s easy on the eyes and very ergonomic to hold. In conjunction with this is the LED light that is designed to signal battery status and prevent you from being caught out and unable to shave because the power has completely drained. This shouldn’t happen too often anyway though, as a single 8 hour charge will give you an impressive 35 minutes of performance.
For those who have beards or long sideburns that they won’t to trim and try and keep under control, this shaver comes with a built-in pop-up trimmer. Meanwhile, an integrated hair chamber will cut small hairs as they get sliced off so that it’s a synch to empty everything out. This is a really great feature that seems to be missing on many other, similar products. There’s even a cleaning brush included!
One other nice bonus when you purchase the product, is the free trial that lasts 45 days. You also get a two year warranty as standard.
Width: 3.5 in
Depth: 6.8 in
Height: 9.6 in
Weight: 14.2 ounces

This product requires owners to replace the shaving heads with HQ56 at least once a year for the best results. If you get caught out without power at any point, another helpful advantage is that you can plug in and continue to use the razor.

Who is it for?
Overall, this shaver has a great set of features and especially for the low price. Despite the low price, this is a product that feels premium and high quality to hold and use and that delivers a highly efficient and comfortable shave.
Customer reviews for the product are also good so far, with four out of five stars on Amazon (at the time of writing) with 922 reviews so far.
That said, while the Shaver 1200 might be a great product for the money, there are offerings out there from Philips with more bells and whistles. In this case, the Shaver 1300 comes to mind as this is essentially the same basic model but with a few more features for a slightly higher asking price.
If you’re looking for a start shaver or you want to keep your budget down, then this is one of the best products out there for a low price.
On the other hand though, if you’re looking for an all-singing and all-dancing razor and you don’t mind paying just a little bit more, then it’s probably worth going with one of Philips’ slightly more top-of-the-range offerings.
Of course as a rotary shaver as opposed to a foil shaver, this also has all the advantages and disadvantages of these kinds of shavers. It’s absolutely great for reaching into and around more difficult patches of boney face but for speed and precision some people prefer foil shavers. In that case, something like the Braun Series 3 will very likely prove a good option.

Recommendation (My Opinion)
In conclusion, this model is an excellent shaver for the price and offers the same comfort and quality of shave as many of the more expensive competitors on the market. That said, it is generally a ‘starter’ or ‘basic’ shaver so there are a few out there with more features if you’re willing to spend a little extra.
